LAST WEEK OF EARLY VOTING: AUGUST 3-7, 2020
election day: Tuesday, AUGUST 11, 2020
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., once stated, "A time comes when silence is betrayal" and even in the "vocation of agony" we must speak.
As your next District 2 Board of Education member, I will not be silent. I will ask the tough questions, be transparent with and engage the community, engage and encourage local business support, be fiscally responsible and be a continued ardent advocate for our students and the community at large.
I am invested in this community having lived here for 12 years and in the school system for the last 5 years.
So when asking why do I want to run, I ask why not me? I want to be the People’s Candidate. The candidate that listens, studies, researches, and then acts. District 2 and the County at-large deserves a Board of Education member who will advocate for and put our STUDENTS FIRST.
ALL students deserve equality in education and opportunity, safe transportation, be proficient in reading and math and positioned for success after high school. Our teachers must be supported in the classroom from discipline to resources, from investing in their educational elevation to a competitive salary. Our bus drivers and bus monitors deserve a competitive salary and a safe transportation environment. Lastly, in placing our STUDENTS FIRST we must keep our parents and community involved and educated.
Although, I seek to represent the 14 schools and the approximately 12,000 students in District 2; I will serve and advocate for all 51 schools and 43,000 students system wide.
As your representative, I will listen to the concerns and needs of the community and be their voice at the Board. I will conduct myself ethically and support policies and initiatives that elevate our students for the future. I will stand up for and along side our STUDENTS.
In the midst of this pandemic and these unprecedented times, I will be an advocate ensuring that all students are fed, additional or expanded tutoring support, expanded after-school care, additional teacher support, our guidance counselors and seniors receive additional support towards graduation but most importantly that we work as a community for OUR students success.
Please note, I will not betray our students, parents, educators, administrators and voters with my silence.
I ask for your vote, your faith and trust.
Let's place our STUDENTS FIRST!!!!
